Job Description
Initially the Field Officer will be responsible for visiting CBOs, DPOs and other community initiatives to raise awareness of the needs of people with disabilities in their local communities. They will discuss ways of building the capacity of their organisation to include or mainstream people with disabilities and identify possible interest of these organisations to select people from their communities to become Community Workers.
The Field Officer will be responsible for following up community initiatives/sub-grants being supported by the resource and information centre. This person will be responsible for developing the capacity of the local partner organisations and their community workers by:
Monitoring the activities implemented by the local partner organisations
Ensuring quality documentation is provided by local partner organisations on activities undertaken and statistics are kept
Train local partner organisations in meeting standard reporting requirements
Report any technical issues/problems faced in the field to the Technical Officer, to ensure technical issues can be followed up for further capacity building and quality
Provide monthly statistics and activity reports to the Centre Manager
Job Specification
The Field Officer will have the following attributes:
Have completed year 12 level schooling, plus a further degree preferable
Ability to communicate with a variety of people from village to district level
Ability to transfer knowledge and skills to local partner organisations and community workers
Understanding of the global approach to disability
Ability to work independently
Ability to work in rural/remote locations and attend field trips regularly
Good written and reporting abilities
Urdu compulsory and a good understanding of English
