As a graphic designer, you will be required to work on a variety of products and activities, such as websites, advertising campaigns, computer games, corporate communications and corporate identity, i.e. giving organizations a visual 'brand'.
You'll work to a brief agreed with the client, or the project manager and will develop creative ideas and concepts. The appropriate media and style has to be chosen to meet the client's objectives.
The work demands creative flair, up-to-date knowledge of industry software and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines.
You may need to manage more than one design brief at a time and typical activities include:
- Estimating the time required to complete the work and providing quotes for clients;
- Developing design briefs that suit the client's purpose;
- Liaising with clients to determine their requirements and budget
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the design process
- Participate in the development process from definition, through design, build, test, release, and maintenance.
- Develop intuitive, usable, and engaging interactions and visual designs for mobile.
- Stay abreast of UX trends and look for creative ideas and inspiration in parallel analogous worlds. Research and track advancements in mobile application design patterns.
- Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time;
- Presenting finalized ideas and concepts to clients or account managers;
- Working with a range of media, and keeping up to date with emerging technologies;
- Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work;
- Possess an understanding of Android and iOS user interfaces and ecosystems to aid in the downloading, installation, content display and use of mobile applications
- Monitor quality of visual and written content on all mobile applications
