As the Economist says human wants are unlimited and resources are limited to fulfill unlimited wants. From here the concept of optimization arises, as we have to get higher satisfaction within limited income/ resources.
To get real happiness islam teaches us to spend a moderate life and not go beyond the wishes that you cant able to meet with your resources. We should spend simple life and should come out of materialistic things for the real satisfaction. Feel the pain of poor, give them food, cloth from your ample income/ resources to get real satisfaction.
