Few companies can boast of a heritage that dates back to the creation of Pakistan itself. Buxly Paints Limited is proud to be one such company. Khan Rahim Bux Khan the founder of Buxly Paints Limited first started manufacturing paints in 1933 in the state of Hyderabad-Deccan, in undivided India. It was the first paint factory started by a local. The company remained a propriety concern and after partition in 1947, the family migrated to Pakistan, where in 1948 Rahim Bux set up the first paint factory of Pakistan under the name, Buxly Paints Works.
The company was incorporated in Pakistan in April 1954 as a private limited company under the Companies Act 1913, with registered office in Karachi and subsequently converted into public limited company in May 1985. Its Shares are listed on the Karachi, Lahore and Pakistan Stock Exchanges. During 2000 the company’s major shareholders decided to dis-invest their shares which were taken over by Slot-Rapid Limited – U.K. Berger Paints Pakistan Limited a leading manufacturing Company owns 19% of Buxly’s share.
The early years in the newly founded state of Pakistan presented a host of challenges for the company but the determination and vision of Rahim Bux paved way for success and growth. Buxly not only prospered locally but also pioneered in exports of paints to the Far East and Middle East.
