What does Specialist Transport Network Operations - Design do?

The role is responsible for planning and design activities for Optical amp; IP Networks. HLD/LLD preparation, verifications, Network design, vendor coordination and documentation.

Required individual needs to be self-motivated, should be able to work under pressure conditions with stretched timelines. Takes initiatives for network optimizations.

· Key responsibilities amp; Deliverables

• Responsibilities include high-level network design at various layers of transmission technologies including MS-OTN, IP-MPLS, IP-RAN, FTTS etc.
• High/Low Level Design amp; Documentation, Network Implementation Plan and Supervision.
• Metro and Long Haul Network Design.
• Highlight and identify network optimization needs and issue plans for implementation of network optimization solutions.
• Solution, Design and feasibility provisioning for Nation-wide Jazz Enterprise Network team.
• Propose network expansions based on performance KPIs of JAZZ transport network.

Requirements

Experience and Educational requirements

• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience with BSc. Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or in any other relevant field
• Soft skills and technical skills required
• Presentations and incident reporting
• Good skill of communications
• Time management
• Cross functional team engagement.

Essential skills must have:

• Having good knowledge and relevant experience of ASON/WASON, OTN, OTH, IP-MPLS technologies.
• Planning and design of metro/long-haul IP amp; optical transport networks
• Working with optical transmission equipment from well-established equipment providers
• Working knowledge of optical transmission design principles including fibre types, optical power budgeting, amplification and/or attenuation requirements etc.
• Technical proficiency balanced with a desire and aptitude to plan, co-ordinate and project manage

Desirable Skills:

• Extensive understanding of MPLS protocol and it’s applications
• Computer Proficiency, MS Office must include MS Visio amp; Power point.
• Communication and presentations skills to make solutions/ideas understandable for respective audience segments.
