Job Description

  • Responsible for the timely, accurate and efficient programming of multi-axis (Dahlih & Deckle) machining centers.
  • Utilize MasterCam, and Pro-E to develop 2,3,4 & 5 axis programs to be used in the manufacturing of complex parts.
  • Utilize VERICUT to reduce proofing and simulate 3-D modeling of tool paths for validation.
  • Analyze work-holding requirements and develop component process plan with minimum number of setups.
  • Develop the method, operational sequence, equipment, layout and tooling for the machining of precision components.
  • Assure clearance between machine spindles, tool holders, parts and fixtures.
  • Load program and adjust speeds, feeds, tooling and operating sequences as needed.
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing and work-holding methods for CNC operations.
  • Day-to-day activities associated with manufacturing including corrective actions, achieving specifications, adhering to quality procedures and achieving on-time completion.
  • Develop time standards and assist in monitoring and improving efficiency of current production.
  • Establish the schedule consistent for meeting tool room priorities.
  • Prepare list of required materials, tools, and equipment and prepare purchase order to obtain materials, tools, and equipment as required.
  • Assist in current and future capital tooling justifications.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions.
  • Develop detailed operator instructions for utilizing program data on the CNC Mills.
  • Ensure safety issues are addressed and communicated to operators.
  • Guide the operators for the development and integration of new machining techniques, manufacturing methods and processes.
  • Plan and establish production schedule for manufacturing of the parts.
  • Analyze production specifications and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and people requirements.
  • To design jigs and fixtures for new equipment.
  • Develop flexible and integrated manufacturing systems and procedures.
  • Maintain complete records of all completed jobs for future reference.
  • Organize and keep updated CNC programs,
  • Oversee and direct all required equipment repairs, preventative maintenance and keep fully detailed documentation for future reference.
  • Contact supervisory personnel when raw product, events or finished products are not conforming to required standards.
  • Assist supervisor in machining adjustments and operational improvements.
  • Maintain and perform preventive maintenance on machines and related systems.
  • Advise management of pertinent changes in working conditions or significant information that may present short and long term impacts on inventory and overall output.
  • Compute amount of workload capacity and running time.
  • Deliver assigned part on time and at expected quality results.
  • Act as a liaison with shop floor machinists to improve setup instructions and identify efficiency improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory or management personnel.

Job Specification

  • Minimum requirement is Bachelor Degree in Mechanical and a minimum of 3 to 5 years verifiable experience/track record in programming and setting up of multi-axis machining methods and fixture design.
  • Must have a stable work history and respectable job stability.
  • Knowledge of tooling speeds and feeds offsets and minor program changes.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Must have good computer skills and be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office software.
  • Applicant must be highly flexible and willing to learn multiple manufacturing systems in a fast paced environment.
  • Good machining-related troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate well with Machine Operators.
  • The ability to foresee problems before they occur and correct them at the programming phase.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple work priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to provide clear concise set-up information in English.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T.)
