Job Description
Experienced SQL Server DBA supporting our operations team. Ideal candidates will have strong SQL database skills, troubleshooting skills, query building skills and ability to work across various technical teams in an operations support environment. This role is an opportunity to affect positive changes to a very large ops team via your direct SQL DBA skills in replication, performance tuning, analysis of current database processes and knowledge article authoring. This operations team is a 7x24 environment and may require shift work.
Job Specification
- Solid understanding of SQL technology for supported service area, strong teamwork, coordination, cross-group collaboration skills
- Ability to multitask and re-prioritize work in a changing business climate
- Works well in fast paced environment, works with sense of urgency on impacting incidents or change requests
- 2-3 years Database Administration experience
- Experience with SQL Server 2008 on a Windows Server platform supporting high availability enterprise systems, T-SQL AD-HOC Query and Scripting experience
- Experience supporting SQL Server systems and applications
- Experience with implementation and support of database replication
- Troubleshooting skill set in SQL Server 2008 including, but not limited to: performance (blocking, query optimization), query failures (deadlocks, exceptions), SQL Job Agent Failures, mirroring, replication failures, and SQL log analysis
