Job Description

We’re looking for humble but ambitious, razor-sharp professionals who can teach us a thing or two. We promise to return the favor. Like us, you take play seriously; you’re passionate about games. We embrace those who see things differently, aren’t afraid to experiment, and who have a healthy disregard for constraints. That’s where you come in!As Journalist, you’ll be a League of Legends, World of Warcraft or DOTA 2 storyteller who shares stories of who we are, what we do and why we do it in multiple mediums and on multiple channels, including online gaming communities and social media. You’ll produce technically excellent writing that still manages to sound fresh, be fun, and have personality.Your ability to employ a range of voices and tones is important, because your sweet wordcraft will be used in diverse situations to tell diverse stories. You’ll source these stories by acting as an embedded journalist, interacting with teams across Gaditek to learn what they’re up to and then crafting stories about League of Legends, World of Warcraft or DOTA 2.Your background in journalism and writing will help you source, shape, and share stories that connect players, fans, and potential Gaditian with League of Legends.

YOU ARE:
Educated and Experienced:

Candidate should bring a bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field and at least one year of experience cranking out high-quality, long- and short-form writing.
Productive and motivated: You believe writer’s block is for amateurs; you produce tight work on ludicrous deadlines.A brand storyteller: Your brainstorms make other brainstorms look like head sprinkles or brain cloudies with a chance of scattered showers; your nose for a good story helps you imagine and find the stories and angles that share the culture of a company

Empathetic:

You evaluate how different audiences might perceive your writing and steer clear of gaffes that could create difficult situations

Practical:

Though it offends your artistic sensibilities, you’re OK with having to polish an occasional turd; you have the wisdom to recognize when perfection is the enemy of good.Team oriented: You’re a flexible collaborator who makes it safe for others to provide you with feedback and different perspectives; you develop productive relationships thanks to your impeccable workplace sportsmanship and your preference for no-bullshit communication

YOU WILL:
  • Stay plugged-in to Gaditek happenings and work closely with internal teams to source authentic stories
  • Craft technically excellent, well-written stories, scripts, tweets, and more that share with the world who we are, what we do, and why we do what we do.
  • Collaborate closely with other journalists and editors to create excellent stories
  • Write and curate these stories on different communities and social media
  • Help develop a content strategy and editorial calendar for all our communication channels
  • Don’t forget to include a resume and cover letter. We receive a lot of applications, but we’ll notice a fun, well-written intro that shows us you take play seriously.
  • Include three samples of your favorite work, preferably stuff that’ll appeal to gamer types like us.
