Job Description
a) Reports directly to the Kitchen Supervisor
b) Responsible for food preparation as well as the cooking activities both meals and specialty food.
c) Oversee and participate preparation and cooking of foods in accordance with the specified menu of the day.
d) Ensure food preparation, serving areas and food to be serve are met quality standards
e) Ensure that appropriate clothing, including head wear is worn at all times in accordance to company policy and ensuring that appropriate levels of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained in the kitchen
f) Responsible for high standards of food, hygiene, health and safety.
g) Coordinate to supervisor for the kitchen needs in terms of foods and kitchen supplies.
h) Capacity to recognize unusual or threatening situations such as unsafe working conditions and] report to kitchen supervisor for appropriate actions.
Job Specification
Qualifications:
- Working experience as a Cook in a reputable restaurant or hotel for least 3 years is preferred.
- Expert in multi-cuisine dishes most especially Arabic and Western dishes
- Diploma III Hotel Management, Foods Crafts or Culinary Schools.
- Know how-to make and designs appealing food preparations such as food plating skills .
- Knowledge in good customer service
- Familiar With the safety usage of kitchen utensils, equipment and appliances
- Able to write, read and communicate in English properly
- Physically fit
- Preferably not more than 45 years old
