Job Description

The Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Social Media Executive will be responsible for optimizing the performance of client-specific websites through ongoing assessment of website performance. Candidate must enhance website strengths via social media profiling and strengthen against site performance weaknesses by streamlining operations and troubleshooting problems. Maintenance and enhancement will be an ongoing requirement. Role comprised of many responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assessing client needs and becoming knowledgeable about the client’s search marketing objectives, industry, business niche, products, brand attributes, and competitive position
  • Developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) criteria for performance evaluation
  • Optimising Web Pages integrating Keyword Phrases, Executing On-Page SEO Mechanical Elements (H-Tags, images, text attributes)
  • Improving user experience on website: Increase Click Through Rates (CTR) in search engine results listings, Minimise page abandonment, increase page views.
  • Making content adjustments and tweaking content based upon measurable data. Pages should have genuine purpose, relevancy, and add value.
  • Writing Original Unique Content. Identify content gaps needing filling. Raising content quality standards. Remove or update outdated content.
  • Paying attention to both Offensive and Defensive SEO Campaign Strategies
  • Using Diagnostics Software Tools to diagnose and resolve technical SEO issues (e.g. Canonicalization, pagination, 404 Errors, 301/302 Redirects, Crawl Errors, Server Errors, Duplicate Content, Robot.txt file, XML sitemap and HTML sitemap problems)
  • Ongoing site enhancement and/or maintenance as required
Some recommended practices:
  • General understanding of Web Development, Web Design, HTML coding, CSS
  • Keeping informed on Industry Trends, SEO Best Practices, and Google Algorithm Updates.
  • Protecting client from Website Security Issues proactively before malware occurs

Job Specification

This is a demanding and detailed job, which requires finesse, initiative, a disciplined work ethic, and a highly exacting attitude towards quality of work.

Candidates must have:
  • Demonstrable experience with both interactive, B2B and B2C websites
  • High competency in using Google Analytics, key search engine algorithms, content management experience including integration to meta-data and body copy
  • Experience and proficiency in email marketing, social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter etc.)
  • Strong project management skills - coordinating activities across multiple disciplines
  • Managing and prioritising a diverse workload to meet deadlines
  • Understanding planning and implementation of ethical link building campaigns, clean up bad/redundant links
  • Ability to use link analysis tools to track, analyse and evaluate website link profiles
  • Copywriting, copy editing and proofing skills
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills and confidence interacting at all levels
  • Enthusiasm, positive approach, energy and passion for marketing
  • Excellent organisational skills - with the ability to self-manage, multi-task, handle tight deadlines and be adaptable and flexible to changes in priorities
  • Can-do attitude
