The suitable incumbent will manage all the shipping and logistics aspects of export local and overseas managing the whole process from negotiating prices to ensuring goods arrive safely at final destination.
- Manage the movement of products/equipment/materials in and out of the country in accordance with organizational policy and procedure, and to comply with relevant local, country and international law and process.
- Handle technical details relating to national/international transportation, customs regulations and negotiating with custom clearing agents including freight forwarding companies.
- Efficiently evaluate the costs of transportation, services and inventory within any budget or distribution strategy including sales tax calculations, processing, filling and claims.
- Advance level knowledge of national and international import/export legislation and must be able to effectively troubleshoot any issues that may arise in international freight transportation.
- Maintain records for accounting purposes in accordance with company procedures, including the checking of all invoices and shipping manifests for conformity to tariff and customs regulations.
- Liaise with other departments in order to establish and maintain effective and relevant import/export activities and support in relation to the organization's sales, purchasing, materials management, production and overall operating functions.
- Must have a complete working knowledge of Letter of Credit (LC) and Bank Guarantee (BG) & Import and Export procedures/experience for handling of shipments.
