The Website Designer will be required to create various websites to a brief. Successful candidate must interpret and in some cases create a design brief independently, based on discussion for certain projects and products. These may vary from educational websites to commercial product websites. Ongoing site enhancement and/or maintenance will be required from time to time.
Responsibilities include:- Discussing and interpreting briefs for website design with clients
- Articulating a creative vision clearly to clients and co-workers
- Designing required website in set time period
- Working independently or in collaboration with other team members, as determined by nature of specific project
- Presenting draft versions of website for approval, and adapting finished site according to client requirements
- Ongoing site enhancement and/or maintenance as required
This is a demanding and exciting job, requiring focus, initiative and skill. Successful candidate must be disciplined and committed to creative excellence.
Candidates must have:- A comprehensive understanding of design and typography for the web
- At least 3 years’ experience working with Adobe Creative Suite - in particular Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Adobe Creative Suite must be your only go-to choice for design work. We will not consider candidates who work mostly with CorelDraw or other non-Adobe applications
- A strong understanding of front-end technologies - you are able to expertly hand-code HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript and jQuery
- Experience working with .NET C# technologies such as MVC 4+ and Razor. You must be able to confidently integrate your client-side code with server-side frameworks
- You understand responsive design and development for mobile platforms and can demonstrate knowledge of this
- Exceptional UI design skills with a strong portfolio to prove this
- Creative eye for the web, empathy for users and technical competence
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present a reasoned argument
- Excellent organisational skills - with the ability to self-manage, multi-task, handle tight deadlines and be adaptable and flexible to changes in priorities
- Problem-solving nature - able to work with other team members to resolve issues quickly
- Can-do attitude, with willingness to learn

Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualification
