Job Description
· Increase community awareness and understanding of library services, resources and facilities
· Interact and communicate with the students and staff
· Ensure student queries and complaints are answered
· Create and maintain accurate circulation records on library-automated systems
· Sort, shelve, tidy and check collections to keep them orderly, neat and accessible.
· Apply established security practices and procedures
· Utilize a range of PC applications
· Assist clients with clear instruction on how to use library electronic resources.
· Participate in working parties and committees, where necessary for the development of Library Services Actively share ideas, expertise and skills with other staff.
Job Specification
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Professional behaviour and excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively as a team member and serve the public courteously and effectively.
Able to work with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds in a collaborative manner.
Manage details, set priorities, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
Commitment to service, continuous improvement and innovation with a strong work ethic.
Fluent in office productivity software, ILS, Internet and other standard office equipment.
