Job Description
- Complete a wide range of activities requiring clear communication
- Work well under pressure, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the event
- Build relationships with internal and external customers
- Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process
- Serve as liaison with vendors and sponsors on event-related matters
- Work with media and public affairs team to coordinate press events and messaging is timed and released to effectively promote events
- Coordinate and monitor event timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
- Prepare presentations, manage correspondence and coordinate event logistics.
Job Specification
• Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking.
• Excellent organization skills and experience with project management
• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and work assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers.
• Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.
• Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision.
• Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; significant work experience can substitute for the degree.
• Proficient using the Web to conduct research, event administration and procurement as well as with the latest versions of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience with Web communications, publishing, usability and/or social media is a plus.
