Job Description
1. 3+ years working Experience building real web applications for real people using a web framework like Django or Rails with either PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB. (Preferable)
2. Experience with RESTful web services (Google Maps, etc.), JSON, XML.
3. Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX
4. Solid SQL knowledge Demonstrated RDBMS experience (preferably PostgreSQL). You have the ability to design effective data storage for the task at hand, and know how to optimize query performance along the way.
5. Web server excellence preferably using Apache and Nginx.
6. Linux expertise - with a BS in Computer Science or equivalent
7. Memcached and RabbitMQ (a plus)
8. High-load experience
9. Continuous integration experience (Jenkins)
10. Experience with source control (git preferred)
11. Passionate about delivering a delightful experience to users
12. Experience deploying and hosting applications on Amazon Web Services, or other cloud environments
13. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming including algorithms, data structures, and design patterns
14. Creative thinker with excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills
15. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, fast learner with the ability to work in a team environment
16. Ability to wear many different hats
17. Attitude to thrive in a fun, fast-paced startup environment
18. A working knowledge and enjoyment of usability and UX design
19. A passion for the craft of creating beautiful code
20. An understanding of the trade-offs involved with TDD and pairing
21. A GitHub profile with some code and experience contributing to open source projects
22. An innate hunger for information on the web, software engineering, and entrepreneurship
