Education

  • Must be an MBBS graduate from an approved program with the accreditation of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.
  • Currently demonstrated clinical proficiency and completion of clinical externships.
  • Doctors of Medicine MD preferred for Senior Medical Professional role.

Working Hours: Between 6 PM to 6 AM Pakistan time.

Full time: (9 working hours with 1-hour break)

Part time: (4.5 working hours with a half-hour break)

Day Off: TBD (2 days in a week)


Roles and responsibilities

As a Medical Assistant Research Professional, you will use your medical knowledge and assisting skills to help provide optimal care to patients under physician supervision. This role is dedicated to working directly with 1 specific MD based in the US and organizing, assisting the physician with efficiently completing daily medical, clinical, and administrative tasks and responsibilities.

Day to-day responsibilities

  1. Assists in pre-visit planning by preparing medical records for the patient visit, confirming accuracy with patient identifiers, pre-visit summarization, entering the chief complaint, and social history.
  2. Clinical Decision Support
  3. Ensures outside paperwork is scanned into the patient's electronic medical record. Processes and tracks referrals and prior authorizations as requested/ordered by the provider. Notifies providers of patient requests for referrals and prescription renewals.
  4. Controls, monitors and assists with patient flow and scheduling to maximize the efficient use of providers.
  5. Assists in after visit task management, including helping arrange follow-up appointments, diagnostic testing, surgery and in-patient admission administration under direction of the nurse or physician.
  6. Assists with patient billing by ensuring CPT code, diagnosis code, and all supplies and procedures are properly indicated on charting.
  7. Understanding of medical terminology, clinical workflows, and health insurance procedures
  8. Provides administrative support which may include answering telephone calls, taking and forwarding accurate messages and escalations, patient schedule management.

Technical Qualification

  • Must have a reliable internet connection capable of supporting voice over IP and a computer with specifications of Intel Core i5 or higher and 8GB RAM or higher.

  1. Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail required. Ability to prioritize work and complete tasks promptly.
  2. Ability to work independently and accurately with excellent follow-through.
  3. Moderate computer skills including documents, spreadsheets, e-mail and automated scheduling software and the ability to navigate through hospital-based computer systems. (Ability to fill records, schedule appointments and answer calls, has excellent verbal, communication and documentation skills and, competence with telehealth software, EHR systems, and office productivity tools)
  4. Ability to read, write and spell in English to ensure accurate message taking
  5. Knowledge of business math, ability to make calculations and analytical skills are required.
  6. Good interpersonal skills.
  7. Knowledge and ability to use universal precautions and knowledge of patient data handling.
  8. Ability to complete and pass competency screening exams for employment as needed.
  9. Skills and knowledge necessary to help provide care to patients throughout the lifespan, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns in each step of the care process. This includes: Knowledge of growth and development; Ability to interpret age-specific data and response to care; and Provide age-specific communication.
  10. Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential patient information according to HIPPA.
