Setup and Calibration: Set up machines for production runs, including selecting tools, preparing machine settings, and loading materials.
Reading and Interpreting Blueprints: Understand and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure correct measurements and specifications.
Monitoring and Adjusting: Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure products are manufactured to required tolerances and quality standards.
Inspection: Use measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to inspect parts and ensure quality and precision.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues with machines, including minor repairs or adjustments.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machines, ensuring they are clean, well-maintained, and operational.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment while operating machinery.
Production Efficiency: Maintain production schedules and work to meet deadlines while ensuring the accuracy and quality of the parts.
Experience: Proven experience as a lathe operator, preferably in a manufacturing or machining environment.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining is a plus.
Proficiency in operating CNC or manual lathe machines.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Knowledge of measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and how to use them for precision work.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
