What you'll be doing

Are you a highly motivated student with a keen interest in finance, accounting, and taxation? Join our Accounts and Taxation Department as an Intern and gain hands-on experience in the critical processes that maintain a company's financial compliance and health.

Core Responsibilities & Learning Goals:

The Intern will support the Accounts and Tax team with day-to-day tasks, focusing on accuracy, data entry, and compliance research.

1. Accounting Support

Bookkeeping Assistance: Help with daily data entry of financial transactions into the accounting software (e.g., recording expenses, generating vouchers).

Reconciliation: Assist in preparing and matching bank statements, vendor ledgers, and debtor/creditor balances.

Documentation: Organize and maintain physical and digital financial records, ensuring all invoices, receipts, and payment proofs are correctly filed.

Accounts Payable/Receivable: Support the team in tracking outstanding payments and processing vendor invoices.

2. Taxation Support

Tax Documentation: Assist in gathering necessary data and documentation required for monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings (e.g., Sales Tax, Income Tax).

WHT Research: Conduct basic research on recent tax changes, specifically related to Withholding Tax (WHT) regulations, and help prepare summary reports.

Audit Preparation: Aid in compiling and organizing documents for internal or external financial and tax audits.

Candidate Requirements

Education:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree (final or penultimate year preferred) in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a professional qualification (ACCA/ICMA/CA/CPA student).

Skills:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory.

Basic knowledge of accounting principles (Debit/Credit, Double-Entry).

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Strong desire to learn about the local tax landscape (FBR/Provincial Tax Authorities).

Soft Skills: Highly organized, responsible, and a strong team player.
