What you'll be doing

Diagnostic Solutions, a Lahore-based supplier of biomedical equipment, RO units, PCR consumables and kits, is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to maintain accurate financial records and support operational decision-making. The role reports to the Finance Head and works closely with procurement, sales, and service teams to ensure timely recording of transactions and compliance with local tax and reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain general ledger, prepare monthly journal entries and reconcile accounts receivable and payable.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to support working capital needs.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and management reports.
  • Ensure timely VAT and withholding tax calculations and filings; coordinate with external tax advisors as needed.
  • Support inventory valuation and reconciliation for biomedical equipment, RO units and PCR consumables, ensuring proper cost accounting and recording of write-offs.
  • Assist with budget preparation, periodic forecasting and analysis of margins on sales and service contracts.
  • Collaborate with procurement and sales to validate invoices, credit notes and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain fixed asset register, calculate depreciation and support periodic audits.


This position is based in Lahore and requires adherence to local statutory and internal control procedures. The successful candidate will contribute to stronger financial controls and accurate reporting to support Diagnostic Solutions' growth in the health and biomedical supplies market.

  • Proven experience with double-entry bookkeeping and month-end close processes.
  • Practical knowledge of Pakistani VAT, withholding tax rules and statutory reporting timelines.
  • Experience with inventory accounting and cost reconciliation for goods, including tracking of serialized equipment and consumables.
  • Skilled in bank and account reconciliations, cash-flow monitoring and expense control.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, custom ERP) and strong Excel skills including VLOOKUP, pivot tables and formula auditing.
  • Ability to prepare accurate financial statements, variance analyses and management-friendly summaries.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate with procurement, sales and external auditors.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English and Urdu for internal reporting and liaison with tax advisors.
