Role overview:
- Assist senior hairstylists and all-rounders by preparing the salon for appointments and maintaining hygiene standards.
- Support basic client care to ensure a smooth, professional guest experience.
- Perform light front-desk and stocking duties as required while learning technical skills from experienced staff.
Key responsibilities:
- Greet clients, escort them to service stations, and ensure client comfort before appointments.
- Prepare and sterilize tools, equipment, and workstations following salon hygiene protocols.
- Wash, shampoo, and condition clients' hair under direction; assist with blow-drying and basic styling.
- Keep treatment areas stocked with supplies (towels, capes, products) and manage simple inventory checks.
- Follow instructions from senior hairstylists and assist efficiently during services.
- Perform light housekeeping in salon areas and ensure waste disposal follows hygiene guidelines.
What we’re looking for
- Must-have: Basic knowledge of salon hygiene and safety practices, including tool sterilization and waste disposal.
- Must-have: Hands-on ability to shampoo, condition, and assist with basic drying/styling techniques.
- Must-have: Good communication and customer service skills; polite and attentive to client needs.
- Must-have: Ability to follow instructions from senior hairstylists and assist during services.
- Must-have: Physical stamina for standing and handling towels/equipment through the shift.
- Must-have: Basic literacy for appointment notes and simple inventory tracking.
- Preferred: Vocational training or short courses in salon services; prior hands-on salon exposure.
