Role Overview:
Alpha Audio is seeking a freshly graduated KNX Home Automation Engineer / Software Engineer to join the technical team. This on-site, full-time role involves working on KNX-based smart home integration and audiovisual (AV) control systems for residential and small commercial projects. The role reports to senior engineers and includes design, configuration, testing and commissioning of KNX installations, collaboration with installers and clients, and delivering integrated AV and home automation projects.

Role Overview:
Alpha Audio is seeking a freshly graduated KNX Home Automation Engineer / Software Engineer to join the technical team. This on-site, full-time role involves working on KNX-based smart home integration and audiovisual (AV) control systems for residential and small commercial projects. The role reports to senior engineers and includes design, configuration, testing and commissioning of KNX installations, collaboration with installers and clients, and delivering integrated AV and home automation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing KNX topology and device layouts for residential and small commercial projects.
- Develop and configure KNX logic using ETS or similar tools and write control scripts for touch panels and AV processors.
- Implement integrations between KNX, IP-based AV equipment, and third-party services (media servers, streaming devices, lighting and climate controls).
- Perform on-site commissioning, system testing, troubleshooting and defect resolution under supervision.
- Create and maintain system documentation, user guides, and handover materials.
- Collaborate with installation teams and liaise with clients during commissioning and acceptance testing.
What we’re looking for
Must-have:
Preferred / Advantageous:
- Basic understanding of KNX protocol concepts and device types.
- Familiarity with ETS software is desirable.
- Fundamental programming skills in Python, JavaScript, C/C++ or similar languages.
- Knowledge of IP networking: TCP/IP, DHCP, static addressing; VLAN basics and network troubleshooting for device integration.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams and follow structured installation practices.
- Problem-solving mindset, methodical debugging/testing approach, attention to detail during commissioning.
- Good communication skills to liaise with clients and installation teams and prepare clear documentation.
- Willingness to learn on the job and take direction from senior engineers.
Preferred / Advantageous:
- Exposure to audio-video control systems, RS-232/RS-485 basics and common AV protocols (e.g., HDMI, Dante, SIP).
- Relevant KNX/automation training or certifications.
