What you’ll be doing
CapiraRX, a Lahore-based pharmaceutical company, is seeking a Formulation Scientist to design robust formulations, support scale-up, and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards. This role reports to the R&D Lead and collaborates with analytical, regulatory, manufacturing, and quality teams to translate candidate molecules into stable, manufacturable dosage forms.

- Lead formulation development for oral solid, liquid, and semi-solid dosage forms, including prototype design, excipient selection, and compatibility studies.
- Optimize processes using Design of Experiments (DoE) and systematic experimental planning to improve bioavailability, stability, and manufacturability.
- Support analytical and stability testing by defining acceptance criteria and interpreting results to refine formulations.
- Manage scale-up and tech transfer to pilot and manufacturing, preparing batch records, process parameters, and troubleshooting during production runs.
- Maintain documentation including development reports, stability protocols, SOPs, and regulatory submission-ready data aligned with cGMP and ICH expectations.
What we’re looking for
Minimum qualifications & skills
- MSc / PharmD / PhD in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related discipline; or equivalent industry experience with at least five years in formulation development.
- Minimum 5 years pharmaceutical formulation development experience with oral and topical dosage forms.
- Hands-on experience with excipient selection, pre-formulation studies, solubility and compatibility testing.
- Skilled in formulation optimization techniques including Design of Experiments (DoE) and statistical analysis.
- Practical knowledge of scale-up, pilot batches and tech transfer to manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with stability study design, ICH guidelines and data interpretation for shelf-life prediction.
- Working knowledge of cGMP, quality systems, deviation/CAPA processes and regulatory dossier requirements.
- Proficient documentation skills: development reports, batch records, SOPs and regulatory submissions.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, prioritize tasks, and meet project milestones.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills; proficiency with laboratory equipment used in formulation labs.
