What you’ll be doing
Responsibilities:
- Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood samples as required.
- Ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens.
- Maintain patient records accurately and organize them in the system.
- Handle and process specimens in accordance with established guidelines.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment.
- Provide support and comfort to patients; explain procedures as necessary.
- Ensure proper disposal of medical waste and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient care and specimen management.
What we’re looking for
Must-have:
Preferred / Certification:
- 1-2 years of phlebotomy or related clinical experience.
- Proficiency in venipuncture and skin puncture techniques.
- Knowledge of bloodborne pathogen safety protocols and specimen handling.
- Ability to identify and label specimens accurately.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills for interacting with patients and medical staff.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and provide sensitive patient care.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical on-site environment.
Preferred / Certification:
- Certification in Phlebotomy (CPT) or similar credential.
