What you’ll be doing

Job Summary:

Role: Deliver high-quality O-Level Chemistry and Biology instruction to secondary students; develop conceptual understanding, practical laboratory skills, and exam readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Chemistry and Biology aligned to O-Level specifications, learning objectives and assessment requirements.
Design and supervise practical laboratory sessions, ensuring safety, correct use of equipment, and links between experiments and theory.
Prepare focused assessments, quizzes and past-paper practice; mark work promptly and provide constructive feedback.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs, including remedial support and extension activities.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment data and student progress; prepare progress reports and communicate with parents as needed.
Contribute to departmental teamwork, extracurricular science activities and school events.

What we’re looking for

Must-have: Strong subject knowledge in O-Level Chemistry and Biology; ability to teach theory and practicals.
Experience planning lessons and schemes of work aligned with O-Level syllabi and assessment objectives.
Competence in designing and safely conducting laboratory experiments; understanding of risk assessments and PPE.
Assessment literacy: creating formative and summative assessments, exam-style questions and marking schemes.
Classroom management and the ability to foster a positive learning environment.
Good communication for instruction, parent engagement and reporting.
Ability to differentiate instruction and provide targeted interventions.
Familiarity with educational technology and digital resources.
Teamwork and willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities.
