What you’ll be doing

Job overview

Lead library services across the campus, strengthen learning resources, and support faculty and student research needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage acquisition, cataloguing, classification, and circulation of print and electronic resources.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated library system, metadata standards, and discoverability strategy for digital collections.
  • Design and deliver information literacy workshops, reading programs for students, and professional development sessions for teachers.
  • Supervise and coach library staff; assign duties and evaluate performance.
  • Partner with academic departments to align resources with curriculum and support research projects.
  • Monitor budget and make recommendations for resource allocation and vendor contracts.

What we’re looking for

  • Education: Master’s degree in Library & Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years relevant professional library experience, preferably in an educational library.
  • Library systems & standards: Experience with library management systems (e.g., KOHA, Alma, or similar); familiarity with MARC, Dewey Decimal, or equivalent classification schemes.
  • Collection management: Collection development, e-resource licensing, periodical management, vendor negotiation.
  • Instruction & outreach: Design and deliver information literacy instruction and reading interventions for diverse student age groups.
  • Technical: Competence with digital resources, ebooks, LMS integration, and basic AV troubleshooting.
  • Leadership & data: Staff supervision, scheduling, mentoring, performance assessment; use circulation statistics, usage analytics, and reporting tools.
  • Organizational: Cataloguing workflows, preservation, and maintaining an accessible library environment.
