What you’ll be doing
Overview
The Machine Technician will maintain, troubleshoot and optimize packaging machinery used across production lines to support continuous manufacturing operations, ensuring equipment reliability, safety and product quality in a regulated environment. Works on-site in Korangi, Karachi and coordinates with production, maintenance and quality teams to minimize downtime and implement preventive measures.
Primary Responsibilities
The Machine Technician will maintain, troubleshoot and optimize packaging machinery used across production lines to support continuous manufacturing operations, ensuring equipment reliability, safety and product quality in a regulated environment. Works on-site in Korangi, Karachi and coordinates with production, maintenance and quality teams to minimize downtime and implement preventive measures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance and calibration of packaging machines, conveyors and auxiliary equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults and carry out timely repairs to restore production.
- Disassemble and reassemble machine components, replace worn parts, and adjust mechanisms to ensure correct operation and product specifications.
- Set up machines for production runs, changeovers and format adjustments while minimizing waste and downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, report recurring issues and recommend improvements to enhance equipment uptime.
- Follow safety protocols, cleanroom/GMP-related procedures, and cooperate with quality control during equipment validations.
What we’re looking for
Must-have Skills & Experience
- Diploma or trade certificate in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred 2+ years).
- 3 years practical experience in machinery maintenance (packaging/manufacturing).
- Mechanical: experience with gearboxes, bearings, couplings, shafts, belts and chain drives; able to read mechanical drawings.
- Electrical & pneumatic troubleshooting: wiring, motors, sensors, solenoids and air systems; read basic electrical schematics.
- Packaging equipment experience: cartoners, blister machines, filling or sealing machines or general production machinery.
- Hands-on tools: competent with hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments and alignment techniques.
- Maintenance practices: preventive maintenance programs, maintenance logs and spare-parts control.
- Problem solving: fault isolation, root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Good communication and teamwork; support shift handovers.
