Key responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately and professionally.
- Handle cash, card, and digital payments; balance cash drawer and prepare end-of-day reports.
- Provide friendly, efficient customer service: greet customers, answer basic product/location questions, assist with price or promotion inquiries.
- Pack and bag purchases, issue receipts, and ensure correct pricing and barcode scanning.
- Support inventory tasks such as restocking shelves, receiving deliveries, and inspecting items for damage or mispricing.
- Maintain a clean, organized checkout area and follow store policies on refunds/exchanges.
What we’re looking for
Must-have
Preferred
- Prior cashier or retail checkout experience (preferred).
- Familiarity operating POS systems and cash handling procedures.
- Strong numeracy and accuracy for cash drawer reconciliation and daily sales reports.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills for customer interaction and teamwork.
- Reliable timekeeping and integrity when handling cash.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting (shelving books).
Preferred
- Basic knowledge of inventory restocking and receiving processes.
- 1+ year retail/cash handling experience.
