Interlink Services Inc. seeks an IT Internee to join its engineering team. This entry-level internship provides hands-on exposure to software development, system administration, and project delivery. The internee will work closely with senior engineers and project managers on internal projects and client engagements.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in software development: contribute to coding tasks, bug fixes, and feature implementations under guidance.
- Support testing and QA: prepare test cases, execute manual tests, log defects, and verify fixes.
- Help with deployment and maintenance: assist in building deployment packages, monitoring environments, and applying routine updates.
- Documentation and collaboration: produce technical notes, update project documentation, and participate in team meetings and code reviews.
- Learning and process improvement: follow mentoring, learn version control and frameworks, and suggest workflow improvements.
What we’re looking for
Must-have skills/knowledge:
- Programming: familiarity with at least one language such as Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript.
- Web technologies: basic understanding of HTML, CSS, RESTful APIs, and client-server concepts.
- Databases: coursework or experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar and basic SQL queries.
- Version control: exposure to Git and collaborative workflows (branching, pull requests).
- Testing: fundamental knowledge of software testing practices, writing test cases, and reporting defects.
- Tools: comfort with command-line tools, package managers, and simple scripting for automation.
- Soft skills: problem-solving, attention to detail, English communication, teamwork, eagerness to learn, and ability to follow mentor guidance.
