Job Description
1. To organize work placements and support students in the work placement process. 2. To organize and attend placement visits to monitor the progress of students, and deal effectively with any issues/concerns that arise. 3. Assist with briefing meetings on a group and individual basis with students and course leaders so that they understand the work placement process, the level of support available and are fully equipped to undertake a successful work placement. 4. Representing institution to prospective employers and seeking appropriate new placement opportunities both.5. Liaising with employers regarding visits to campus for recruitment 6. Events ensuring that employer needs are met and that students and staff are aware of the event.7. Monitoring the suitability of existing placement opportunities; ensuring that employers are aware of their responsibilities to the student and of the student’s and the institution responsibilities to them; 8. Maintaining long-term relationships with the employers concerned.9. Delivering careers related modules to prepare student for placement and help them to reflect on their experiences. To advise and guide students (in groups or as individuals, online and in person) about the application process including, CVs, application forms, assessment centers, interviews and selection tests.10. Working in collaboration with the work placement supervisors, ensuring that they are available to meet students or employers when necessary and to brief him/her about any problems or concerns. 11. To assist in the distribution of relevant documentation to providers concerning work placement. 12. To assist in the development and maintenance of a database of appropriate employer and commercial/industrial links. 13. To assist with work placement correspondence and telephone enquiries internally and externally. 14. Visiting the workplace to ensure adequate supervision of placements; communicating details of placements to the institution bodies which require the information; and to administer all other aspects of the activity.
