One of our clients a large organisation is looking for:
SENIOR ECONOMIST
1. Provide intellectual and analytical support in formulating monetary policy.
2. Produce regular forecasts of key macroeconomic variables including counterfactual simulation analysis and contribute in the up-gradation of existing in-house econometric model.
3. Undertake research and analysis on economic and financial issues; develop policy briefs on Economic trends, developments and outlook to assist policy formulation and appraisal.
4. Prepare working papers and briefs for senior management, Monetary Policy
Committee and Monetary & Fiscal Policy Coordination Board.
5. Contribute in various publications including Annual and Quarterly Reports on the state of economy, CLIENT Research Bulletin and CLIENT Working Paper Series.
6. Manage a team of Economic Analysts and prepare business plans.
Competencies
Deep knowledge of Pakistan’s economy particularly monetary, financial and external sectors.
Sound understanding of global economic and financial issues.
Brings informed and balanced perspectives when forming policy judgments.
Sound knowledge of statistical and econometric techniques for analytical purpose, from both a micro and macroeconomic perspective with knowledge of DSGE models.
Proficiency of econometric software(s) especially Stata, E-views and Matlab.
Ability to develop/evaluate Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium models would be a plus.
Strong analytical skills and an advanced–level command of English.
Effective leadership, team management, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic and competitive environment
