Job Description
A Development Engineer is being sought for our Research & Development company. The position requires a person to be involved in the maintenance of a web software for our client. The Development Engineer will troubleshoot bugs and problems, develop solutions for the resolution of short comings and limitations in the software, and configuring the software as required.
The candidate being sought for is someone who has experience as a web developer/back end developer. Someone who has developed and programmed websites, CMS and LMS software.
The duties for this position are:
- Physical presence at Institute of Business Management on Wednesdays and Saturdays (9 am to 4:30 pm)
- Liaison with end users to understand their queries and problems
- Report problems to the Reporting Line
- Configure the software as instructed
- Troubleshoot issues and bugs in the software into solvable problems
- Modify the code of the software to resolve problems and make the software perform the desired function
- Develop and implement system monitoring tools to generate logs for information gathering
- Customise website UI and functionality as required
- Develop scripts, functions, plugins and applications as extensions of the deployed system
- Follow guidelines and instructions to ensure coordination between the client and service provider
Additional Notes
The Development Engineer will be required to work 14 hours a week at the Institute of Business Management, 9 am to 4 pm, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Additional hours may be required for meetings and planning.
Job Specification
The Development Engineer should:
- be skilled in PhP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Javascript
- have knowledge about modifying Smarty template Engine
- have knowledge about CMS and LMS software
- be focused and dedicated in work
- have knowledge of coding plugins and software extensions
- be fluent in the English Language
