Job Description
• Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements;
• Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
• Manage and ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient use of network servers. This includes application, database, web, email, back-up, SAN, VoIP, and other servers.
• Maintains network performance by performing network and server hardware including mounting servers and racks, installing switches and pulling and terminating CAT5E cabling.
• Secures network and systems by developing access control policies, configuring and monitoring firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Conducts growth analyses and capacity planning and assists in development of capital and operating proposals.
• Researches, evaluates, installs, configures and troubleshoots all hardware, peripherals and equipment necessary to meeting company objectives.
• Troubleshoots networks, systems and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems.
• Maintains network performance by performing network and server hardware including mounting servers and racks, installing switches and pulling and terminating CAT5E cabling.
