Data Analyst/Statistician

As a statistician, you will have the opportunity to contribute to all stages of retrospective data studies and research used in the foresight and regional indicators analysis tools being developed at the organization, including:

• Designing Study:
  • Helping to choose appropriate approaches, data management, analytical and statistical design to meet study objectives
  • Develop approaches to analyze diverse datasets
  • Contribute to writing of study proposals and reports, including statistical analysis sections

• Data Management
  • Extract data from databases, develop statistical analyses, projections, curve fitting, etc.

• Project Documentation
  • Document processes for data extraction, statistical analysis, organization and storage
  • Develop procedures for efficient data extraction and re-use of statistical analysis processes
  • Develop data dictionaries etc. as required

• Reporting
  • Provide assistance in the write up and presentation of the results appropriate for the intended audience

Essential:

• MSc or BSc in Statistics/Mathematics with a minimum of five years of experience in the Research field including experimental design, sample size, statistical analysis and interpretation of results, with proven or demonstrable skillset in statistical /numerical analyses
• Hands-on experience and provisioning of technical solutions and advice on statistical methodology and principles
• Hands-on with the development of Statistical Analysis Plans, to include statistical methodology, statistical programming procedures, definition of derived variables, data-handling rules and mockups
• Knowhow of SQL and R programming
• Ability to independently undertake data quality check and prepare cohorts using real-world databases
• Has experience of creating tables and figures in SAS, SPSS or any standard, industry accepted tool
• Prior experience and comfort of working with large-scale data sets
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks under tight timelines
• Fluency in English (spoken and written)

Desirable:

• Familiarity of working with large real-world data
• Experience working with prospective and/or retrospective public studies, including database analyses
• Experience working in close collaboration with environmentalists and social scientists
• Experience and knowledge of current issues in the country and regional level indicators such and Global Competitiveness Index, Human Development Index, poverty indexes, etc.
• Monte-Carlo Simulation using Oracle Crystal Ball will be a plus
