Introduction

Aga Khan University’s (AKU) Working Group for Women (WGW) is a multidisciplinary group that aims to promote a supportive environment to ensure progressive social change. This is done by conducting research and developing linkages with other organizations having a similar vision. This helps in creating awareness within and outside AKU for cultivating harmonious relationships between women and men, upholding equality and human dignity, providing empowerment to women and enabling them to develop their optimum potential, for an improved quality of life.

Responsibilities

You will be mainly responsible for providing assistance to the Coordinator, Working Group for Women for day to day operational activities which may include arranging meetings, recording minutes, preparing documentation and also providing support in conducting research activities.

Specific responsibilities include:

assisting the Coordinator in conducting all WGW collaborated activities

assisting in arranging meetings of the Steering Committee and General Body of WGW, recording minutes and following up on the meetings

preparing documents and an annual performance report of WGW

maintaining the WGW office and files as per requirements under the guidance of WGW Coordinator

assisting in travel and finance related matters

raising and keeping track of purchase requisitions

handling all computer related work competently

providing assistance in conducting research i.e. data collection, coding and data input, transcription etc.

carrying out referencing of relevant documents

maintaining professional interpersonal relationship demonstrating telephonic courtesy while responding to calls

running errands out of office as per requirement.

Job Specification

Requirements

You should have:

a graduate degree preferably BA in Social Sciences from Karachi University or

BBA / MBA from a recognized university

at least 2 years’ experience of working in a secretarial or administrative position

proficiency in spoken & written English and Urdu

competency in computer skills, data entry and transcription skills.

the ability to take on additional delegated work if required.
