Introduction
Radiology Department at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is equipped with cutting edge technology in diagnostic radiology (like digital X-rays, ultrasound, 640 slice CT, 3T-MRI, Interventional radiology), Nuclear Medicine (dual head digital gamma camera with nuclear pharmacy) and Molecular Imaging (PET/CT with cyclotron). Trainee Technologist is a two-years' traineeship program which develops fresh graduates in the technologically advanced field of Nuclear Medicine under supervision of qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Trainee Technologist (Nuclear Medicine).
Responsibilities
You will be responsible to:
attend didactic sessions and rotate in modalities as per schedule.
prepare and administer radioactive chemical compounds, known as radiopharmaceuticals.
accomplish computer processing and image enhancement.
analyze biologic specimens in the laboratory.
provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
educate patients regarding the requirements of the procedure and assessing their level of comfort.
ensure equipment maintenance by cleaning and under supervision making minor adjustments to the same, if required.
assist in radioactive waste disposal as and when required.
assist in radiation protection related activities.
work in shifts when assigned or required.
any other task assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
Fresh candidates who have completed Bachelor of Science with Intermediate in pre-medical are eligible to apply.
Full time employment may be offered upon successful completion of the traineeship programme and availability of the vacant position.
