We are looking for a creative and experienced Wordpress developer, responsible for both frontend and backend development as well as creating themes and plugins. The ideal candidate for this position will have a combination of programming skills including PHP, HTML5, CSS and Javascript as well as a sound working understanding of aesthetics – typographical adeptness i.e. appropriate font
sizes and colours and element arrangement – and design implementation.
As a Sharplogicians’ Wordpress Developer, you will be expected to have your finger on the pulse with industry good practices and trends and have a strong conceptual understanding of the web
development process as a whole from design to development and a successful development. Snapshot of your Responsibilities:

• Design and implementation of new features and functionality on a range of Wordpress- powered websites.
• Establishing and maintaining the architecture of the website.
• Ensuring continuing reliability, availability and high performance through continuing evaluation and optimisation.
• Working alongside the Design department and, on occasion, independently to put together an intuitive, interactive and powerful theme in order to build themes and plugins.
• Participation in and initiation of team and client meetings to liaise effectively both internally and externally to deliver on the client’s specification.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Clear understanding of frontend programming including HTML5, CSS, Javascript, jQuery and more.
• Strong understanding of backend development involving PHP.
• Sound working understanding of online aesthetics, i.e. typographical adeptness, element placement and sizing and effective content delivery, with a view to maximise website efficiency and turnover ratio.
• Experience designing, developing and implementing powerful and highly interactive websites or applications.
• Experience building user-end and client-end interfaces for websites or applications.
• Ability to effectively use all relevant debugging tools to effectively iron out any issues with the website.
• Experience in effective performance monitoring of websites and relevant optimisation.
• Ability to understand and manipulate CSS to a degree that can ensure consistent styling across platforms and browsers.
• Ability to convert layouts and wireframes into working HTML pages.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools and RESTful APIs, and formats.
• Following of industry good practices regarding documentation and optimisation techniques.
