Job Description
1. To be responsible for managing and directing (providing leadership) for the operation of hospital emergency care services with a team of junior colleagues
2. To be able to carry out required first-level contact examination, diagnoses, and treats illnesses and injuries in the acute care setting
3. To be able to review current procedures and provide information and recommendation for procedural changes for the emergency services of the hospital
4. To provide immediate diagnosis and resuscitation care for life-threatening conditions
5. To provide supportive care to patients with serious medical and surgical conditions until referral and management by the appropriate unit/specialist for that condition is arranged
6. To ensure that the emergency care system provides quality care and meets the needs and fair expectations of the patients it serves
7. To provide training and supervision of non-physician health care personnel with regards to pre-hospital and hospital life-saving care management including resuscitations, including identification and treatment of cardiac, traumatic, and infectious emergencies
8. To supervise patient care activities of nurses, technicians, and other staff assigned to the casualty
Job Specification
Education: Minimum MBBS degree from a reputable university/medical college recognized by the HEC; post-graduation and certification in related areas shall be an advantage
Experience: Related clinical experience in specialties (Emergency, Trauma) in the government, private or the non-government sector duly registered with the PMDC
Skills: 1. Genuine willingness to work in challenging and stressful environment
2. Ability to spot diagnoses and manage referral care on the basis of medical history, physical examination, and initial diagnostic tests
3. Considerable knowledge of the first aid and emergency protocols and procedures
4. A fair passion to serve humanity, self-discipline and ethical workplace attitude
