Know our team

Nutrition International’s Operations unit is a dedicated team of program implementation experts who are responsible for contributing to the overall management of NI’s field operations in Asia and Africa. The Wheat Flour Fortification program is key NI program operational in all Provinces of Pakistan. To improve program effectiveness, NI is placing Provincial Manager at Sindh, to provide technical assistance to the provincial food department, and other government departments and industry (wheat flour mills) as required.

The Provincial Manager will be responsible for the successful implementation of Wheat Flour Fortification program in Sindh province in consultation and coordination with food department/ food authority, other government departments, industry representatives (wheat flour mills) NGOs and others working in nutrition sector, academia, and research institutions. However, she/he is encouraged not to interact with media without the presence of National Program Manager and/or the Country Director.

About you

You are a mid-level professional with extensive experience in program management working with international development organization preferably in the field of health and nutrition.

You have an excellent ability to communicate and develop good working relation with government, internal and external stakeholder.

About the role

The Provincial Manager (PM) will work in close coordination with other NI program (USI, VAS, Right Start, Edible Oil fortification) and support the NPM Wheat Flour Fortification to implement all aspects of the wheat flour fortification components of the Food Fortification Program of NI in Sindh province. This will include but not limited to: Support for project planning in the province.

  • Close coordination with key government and industry stakeholders at provincial level to establish multi-stakeholder coordination platforms;
  • Advocacy in the province for appropriate legislation, regulations etc. for mandatory fortification;
  • Strengthening public sector management for food control and quality assurance;
  • Support the development of monitoring systems;
  • Recruitment of wheat flour mills to the project;
  • Identification of equipment needs and the establishment of linkage of wheat flour mills with premix suppliers.
