Job Description
The person in this position must have knowledge of managing library resources, managing research based resources and knowledge of library/ information management software.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Responsible for managing the library with regard
o Increase community awareness and understanding of library services, resources and facilities
o Interact and communicate with the students
o Ensure student queries and complaints are answered
o Create and maintain accurate circulation records on library-automated systems
o Sort, shelve, tidy and check collections to keep them orderly, neat and accessible.
o Apply established security practices and procedures
o Assist clients with clear instruction on how to use library electronic resources.
o Participate in working parties and committees, where necessary for the development of Library Services
Job Specification
- Advance knowledge of office related software (Microsoft Office, Internet and E-mail)
- Proficiency in English language; good writing and speaking ability (including report writing and oral presentations)
- Professional and personal traits;
- Good listener, Creative thinker, Decision maker, Problem solver, Undertakes Responsibility, Team worker
- Able to work in a challenging work environment
