Job Description

Title: Associate Management Support

Duty Station: Islamabad

Type of Contract: Employee

No. of Positions: 1 Position

Duration: 6 months starting from date of joining.


The Merged Areas Governance Project (MAGP) is a technical assistance project to transform the lives of the people of erstwhile FATA through peaceful integration with KP, the extension of civilian governance institutions, and socio-economic development. The project aims to create opportunities for transformative development through innovative approaches that effectively respond to the complexity of the context.

Result 1: Increased KP Government capacity for peaceful implementation of fundamental governance and rule of law reforms as part of the complex integration process;

Result 2: Inclusive governance and political integration at the district and local levels to promote stability;

Result 3: Accelerated and transformative socio-economic development in the Merged Areas through improved planning, implementation, and innovation.

Result 4: State-Citizen relationship strengthened through enhanced engagement of the population by leveraging communications of development work with the reforms and merger process


MAGP is most helpful to government when it is responsive to oft changing support requirements. The MA governance and development situation keeps evolving presenting a continually adjustment implementation context to MAGP. This has the following programmatic and management implications for MAGP:

  • Be responsive to government’s Technical Assistance requests:
  • Manage Request On Call (ROC) for short term and high quality inputs with a short lead time
  • Optimize available budget by deploying available TA efficiently across work plan areas

Against this, MAGP is seeking the services of a qualified Associate Management Support. The incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out technical follow up on work plan assignments.
  • Proactively identify Technical Assistance requirements to prevent delay of DPs and achievement of Work Plan targets.
  • Manage sourcing of TA from ROC or otherwise efficiently.
  • Understand MAGP work streams, task teams, and work as a bridge between the work streams and Strategic Communication Unit (SCU) for reporting and events.
  • Maintain a roster of ROCs with up-to-date information
  • Process cases for recruitments in International Consultants and ROCs
  • Process ROC assignments every month in consultation with Task Team and with approval of Senior Implementation and Coordination Officer
  • Maintain an updated tracker of days utilized
  • Manage all cases of recruitments
  • Manage work assignment and reporting on the work plan management software
  • Organize building block meetings (3 to 5 trainings a month)
  • Organize sporadic presentations on topics that would be relevant for the team
  • Organize and manage technical trainings for the team development
  • Develop write ups to document MAGP practice and success stories
  • Manage and organize MAGP work attention in the media in support of MA development
  • Plan and organize team activities and reports on the work plan management software
  • Proactively identify TA and ROC requirements through continual engagement with the Task Teams
  • Timely identify delays in DPs and work with the Management Team and LEA to plan technical sessions and organize support
  • Work with the Management Team to organize QA reviews for high importance DPs.

For this purpose, we are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized Associate Management Support to provide management support to optimizing key programmatic deliverables and outcomes in a timely and efficient manner. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring timely support to the Data Analytics team so that the team is able to optimally achieve its outcomes and deliverables. The candidate will help its team counterparts to follow programmatic procedures and follow up with different stakeholders so that deadlines are met.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as social sciences, business administration, economics, project management etc.) from a reputable university recognized by HEC.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a programme management unit or related position
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of management processes, policy, and systems
  • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS word, excel, power point and outlook;
  • Good understanding and knowledge of KP region, especially the MA;
  • Fluency in the English and Urdu is required.
  • Ability to work under stress and to multitask.
  • Acting as a team player and facilitating teamwork;
  • Positive attitude with a mindset to deliver development services in a professional manner;
