1. Knows the philosophy of the Hospital through the “Mission Statement” and the purpose of its existence. Ensures implements the policies, procedures and standard of the Hospital and provides for their explanation within the Department.
2. Determines standards/procedures for admission to School of Nursing according to Hospital’s Philosophy and participates in recruitment of students and interviewing of candidates. Ensures all requirements for new students (Bonds, uniforms, shoes, etc) are in place
3. Arranges for School publicity in newspapers and periodical and through talks in the schools to attract students.
4. Establishes School curriculum according to norms of Pakistan Nursing Council’s syllabus. Makes revisions in syllabus periodically as needed.

Selects and orders students’ textbooks in consultation with faculty etc.

General understanding of responsibilities & problems of faculty members & students, comprehensive knowledge of purpose, structure & functions of school, Leadership Skills, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Critical thinking and Decision making, ability to effectively evaluate teachers and staff.
