This is a responsible technical and creative role in the preparation of small video from 5 to 10 mins (final edited). An employee allocated to this class of work is responsible for operating computer-controlled video editing equipment and components which assemble videotape projects for public presentation. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general direction of an administrative superior.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Discusses video project plans with subject matter specialist, producer and director to determine the appropriate video editing.
Uses computer-controlled video editing systems to prepare videotape for presentation.
Operates videotape recorders, computerized editing controllers, video switchers, color video monitors, test signal generators and related equipment, controls, and components.
Operates audio signal processing equipment such as equalizers, noise reducers, and audio mixing consoles and related equipment.
Assists with and performs associated studio production work such as operating audio, videotape machines, cameras, and lighting sets.
Serves as video editing consultant and troubleshooter.
Performs related work as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited college or university in an appropriate curriculum related to telecommunications or educational video production, and some experience in communications production work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
