Position Overview:
Lampro Mellon is looking to hire a software engineer who specializes in programming embedded systems in networks to develop our packet handling protocols for the next generation of brain computer interfaces. You will work on a C/C++ project that improves network communication for LAN-connected devices that streams neural data to users. The project can start immediately and ends in October.
Responsibilities
- Architect network protocols using C/C++ on embedded FPGAs and desktop applications
- Utilize and existing code bases to streamline data transfer between machines on a LAN
- Coordinate with external collaborators who are tasked with building a GUI to display data handled by your network protocols
- Provide deliverables on strict timelines
- Coordinate efforts with Blackrock’s R&D teams

Job Specification
Minimum Requirements
- BS in sciences or engineering, preferably computer science
- 5+ years industry experience
- C/C++ programming experience
- Embedded systems programming
- Linux and Windows programming experience
- Must have good organizational skills.
- Must be thorough and detail oriented.
- Must have excellent reading, writing and communication skills in the English language.
- Must have excellent editing skills.
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
- Must have excellent problem solving skills.
- Must be able to handle stressful situations.
- Must have excellent people skills.
- Must be proficient in computer skills with 2 years experience using Microsoft Office.
- Must have excellent reading comprehension.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Desired Skills/Qualifications
- Experience in a regulated software environment (e.g. medical devices)
- Experience with GNU programming tools
- Experience with MSVC programming tools
- Experience programming FPGAs
- Experience with Kernel development
- Experience with high-bandwidth data packet management on LANs
