Job Description

Work Activities 1.Estimate food consumption, place orders with suppliers, and schedule delivery of fresh food and beverages. 2.Resolve customer complaints about food quality or service. 3.Direct cleaning of kitchen and dining areas to maintain sanitation standards, and keep appropriate records. 4.Monitor actions of staff and customers to ensure that health and safety standards and liquor regulations are obeyed. 5.Check quality of deliveries of fresh food. 6.Meet with sales representatives to order supplies such as tableware, cooking utensils, and cleaning items. 7.Arrange for maintenance and repair of equipment and other services. 8.Total receipts and balance against sales, deposit receipts, and lock facility at end of day. 9.Schedule work hours for servers and kitchen staff. 10.Monitor food preparation and methods. General Activities 1.Identify and estimate quantities of foods, beverages, and supplies to be ordered. 2.Maintain relationships with customers and staff. 3.Update and use job-related knowledge. 4.Schedule staff work hours and activities. 5.Evaluate health and safety practices against standards. 6.Organize, plan, and prioritize. 7.Make decisions and solve problems concerning menus and staff. 8.Judge the quality of food, preparation, and job applicants. 9.Process and analyze information when scheduling and budgeting. 10.Record information about inventory and health practices. 11.Handle food, utensils, and bookkeeping materials. 12.Monitor food preparation and cleaning methods. 13.Implement ideas or products. 14.Inspect equipment and food deliveries. 15.Guide, direct, and train staff. 16.Coordinate the work and activities of staff. 17.Communicate with customers, sales reps, and suppliers.
