Senior PHP Software Engineer

Position Summary:
The Senior Software Engineer will develop specifications and code moderately complex software programming applications in addition to modifying and maintaining existing software. This position requires intensive design, coding and documentation.

Essential Job Functions:
- Designs/codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools and writing comments in his/her source files.
- Development of custom Web-based applications with database back end for customers and internal projects.
- Co-operation with other Web development team members (e.g. Project manager, Web programmers, graphic designers, and authors, quality assurance) in the production of a finished product.
- Excellent knowledge of MySQL, working knowledge of MVC and similar patterns.
- Excellent knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS (a big +), XML.
- Constantly updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications.
- Working closely with other staff, such as project managers, graphic artists, systems analysts, and sales and marketing professionals.
- Creating technical specifications and test plans, writing operational documentation with technical authors.

Skills:
- PHP/LAMP Web Development, Perl LAMP, PHP MySQL , Ruby Python Web Application ,Oracle SQL CGI
- Excellent knowledge of PHP4 Object Oriented programming
- Apache Business Architecting web sites using object oriented PHP and MySQL
- Expertise of working on OSCommerce, CRELoaded, Mambo and similar other open source applications, Must know template based coding following PEAR standards.
- Expertise in PHP, OOPS and hand-coded HTML following W3C standards, Very Sound know-how of Web Environment.
- Evaluate and perform design tradeoffs regarding the architecture and software components.
- Develop and implement software services for use in a Service Oriented Architecture.
- Evaluate and perform design tradeoffs regarding the architecture and software components.
- Knowledge of UML to document designs.
- Knowledge of GD libraries and PEAR libraries a plus.
- Good communication ability, analytical skills and a highly professional attitude are essential, as there will be substantial business contact with end-users.

Experience: At least 2 - 3 Years

Education: At least Graduate
