About Role :
The Medical Billing Team Lead will be responsible for managing a team of medical billers to ensure that all medical claims are processed, billed accurately and in a timely manner, and followed up on accordingly. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing procedures and regulations, excellent communication skills, as well as experience leading and training a team.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of medical billers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work, timely submission of claims, and claim follow up
- Ensure that all medical billing cycles are managed effectively and efficiently, from patient registration to claims submission and payment posting
- Ensure accurate documentation of medical claims in compliance with insurance regulations and guidelines
- Supervising and aiding the medical billing team to resolve claim disputes and denials to ensure efficient revenue cycle management
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement necessary changes to optimize billing operations
- Manage and maintain billing software and systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning properly
- Communicate effectively with physicians, insurance providers, patients, and other healthcare staff as needed
- Stay up-to-date with changes in medical billing regulations and ensure team members are trained accordingly
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance, or a related field preferred
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification preferred
- At least 7 years of experience in medical billing, with a strong understanding of industry regulations and procedures
- Proficiency in the English language
- Previous experience in a team lead or supervisory role, with proven ability to manage and motivate a team
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex billing issues to both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions
- Proficiency with medical billing software, such as Practice Suite or Office Ally
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
