Every individual is born with a certain ability that distinguishes him from the remainder of his kind. In my case it is the curiosity about pain. I have always had an urge to be able to relieve pain and remove people from the misery it inflicts. My earliest memories remind me of my keen interest in a stethoscope; wondering how my physician interpreted my breathing notes. In the later days my attention was taken by the microscope my father bought me and the observation of slides of epidermal cells under it. The personal interest developed into a professional interest when it was time to choose a career. I joined the pre-medical group in secondary school and took my first step in healthcare.
As a child I always wondered why the whole world was running the rat race for money when personal satisfaction nestled in knowledge. For this reason I started taking refuge in books. The confidence I developed in my early age helped me win accolades in debates and declamations. With the growing competition, I realized the significance of hard work. Once the proper combination of personal confidence, strategy and effort was reached, I was able to make it to the dental school.
As soon after I started going through the basic medical sciences, the human body started to register in my brain. I tried to read the clinical signs of different people that I would come across, and every time I would reach the right diagnosis, a certain pleasure engulfed me. To date, I enjoy the feeling of reaching the right diagnosis and devising a good treatment strategy.
Pursuit of excellence is the distinguishable feature of the wise. Life is not the amount of breaths you take but the accomplishments that you leave behind for others to learn from. In order to unbind myself from time, I would leave a literary mark on this world that people after me be taught from.
