Run impact evaluations, collect regular feedback from Rabtts stakeholders, conduct research and need assessments to improve Rabtts summer camps curriculum and program structure, and promote a culture of accountability and research-based practice in the development sector. Currently, the RAship involves writing literature reviews, conducting surveys and analyzing the data collected by applying the SPSS skills that will be taught as a part of the position.
Conducted research on Pakistan-China relations, wrote and edited articles (for the magazine division of the institute), organized meetings with Chinese delegations and reported on the outcome of these meetings. Interacted on a first hand basis with the Chairman of the Senate Defence Committee (Senator Mushahid Hussain) and members of Chinas diplomatic delegations. Also wrote an investigative journalistic piece based on the then ongoing CDA-NARC scandal.
Assisting instructor with the administrative side of the course. Compiling, tabulating and marking course instruments. TA-ing Pakistan Studies also helps understand the problems with secondary school, state endorsed history and the resulting problems in students with regards to critical thinking skills and independent thinking.
Designed innovative lectures for underprivileged students (in Mughulpura, Lahore). Managed extracurricular activities in assigned school. Encouraged students to question what is taught to them. Achieved goal of letting students think creatively in class, without the fear of being incorrect. Understood problems of teaching in resource constrained classrooms. Challenged the notion of rote learning in under privileged private schooling.
