Planting seeds for Digital Education
Imagination is never presumed as a reality and in a world of advanced technological improvements; nothing can be beyond the imagination trigonometry. Thus imagine of getting a PhD degree without even buying a textbook, the possibilities of tabs and digital gadgets that have cusp the change in the education system with a storm.
The advancement of the digital education has been able to positively charm the educational sector and the launching of new applications to give a digital textbook interface to students is very much the icon trade for companies like Apple. This year, yet again with the launch of a new app for iPhone users; iBooks2 has diversified the thinking of the new generation kids. This app is virtually transforming the textbooks into a digitised glory that can easily be captured and sent to their e-book database at the iCloud. Students can also highlight the text that is difficult to understand with the finger touch and the glossary section of the application will easily translate the meaning.
The competition in the digital world is always touchy and other tablet manufacturers are now digitalising college textbooks in their database to get the eyes of students. But as the king of technology; Apple, once again is ahead of the thought. Apple is working rams and roms to digitise the textbooks from high school level and even the elementary school. With the detailed meetings with publishers like McGraw Hill and Pearson, Apple is trying to digitalise all their textbooks enabling the link available to iPad users.
Integrating iPads into classroom
This new app is certainly about to change the approach of many Americans towards education, but the bitter truth is far more dramatic. The average American student is not able to get their hands on the iPads and this is the real concern for Apple, as the company is trying to digitally educate the future of information technology and in order to deal with this situation has urged the school authority to provide tablets. Decades ago, Apple was successful in launching a campaign of providing Apple computers to public schools across the US and as the company is again trying to start similar sort of campaign in a bid to get some tax relief and they can put this funding for the project making iPad accessible to all students regardless of the level of income.
Testing - already in the pipeline
As of today, Apple has started the project in some districts and the appreciation is enormous. The excitement for many students to be a part of engaging with Apple iPad is coming true and for the company the project of digitalising every classroom is possibly working fine. The student performance with the iPad and their determination to work more is yet to be analysed. But this revolution will bring some change in the education sector. Perhaps, a level of school and parents are believer of traditional mode of education with textbooks and doubt that the realisation on digital technology will not be sustainable and the least portion of students will be standing bright.
