To create jobs for engineering graduates within the country is much important so as to utilize these bright minds or otherwise they may flee the country for a better job market. At the moment Pakistan Engineering council register engineers in 29 different categories, according to the discipline of these graduates. Registration with PEC is must for the graduates with engineering degree. Without it they may not be able to get a job as an engineer, which ultimately will affect one’s salary package and also the experience will not be counted as in engineering profession.
Therefore, choosing an accredited engineering program from a recognized campus & batch of an institute is important, which is the basic requirement. A student who takes admission in unaccredited program of university or not fulfill the requirement of eligibility for the candidate required for admission will not be registered. Even with engineering degree without PEC registration as Registered/Professional Engineer (RE/PE), may have no use whatsoever in engineering sector.
